Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death The piece Give me Liberty or Give Me Death was written under the circumstances to raise a militia and to put Virginia in a posture of defense. The author was trying to convince their government to create a militia for defense. The author Patrick Henry wrote to the government and the people of his nation. Sadly he did exaggerate sometimes when he was writing and speaking. He used very deep descriptive words to encourage the government. The time when he wrote this did effect how it was written because he wrote about changing it. If some one wrote about the same thing now, there would be a different point of view. He would be a reliable source because he was there when this was happening. He lived through it.
Common Sense This piece of literature describes the beginning of the American Revelation. It was written as a strong defense of American Independence from England. The author, Thomas Paine, and an american journalist that wrote this specifically to the republic party and the government. There wasn't any example of bias or exaggerations which is unusual for stories on this subject. Luckily the timing of when this was written didn't have a big effect on the story.
The Declaration of Independence. The declaration of independence was written while the revolutionary war was ending. the government wanted an easy and fast way of ending the war. They wanted the colonies to remain in Britain. The author of the Declaration of Independence was a statesman from Virginia named Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson wrote it for the congress to approve or to pass about the war ending. There aren't any example of bias or exaggeration because Jefferson wasn't trying to entice a reader. He was trying to convince the government to agree and sign it. When it was written did effect it because now we don't use large handwritten document to end a wars. This document would be reliable because he didn't exaggerate anything that happened. He was very straight forward and he also lived through this time and was able to remember living through the time of war.
The Crisis This written work was written to argue for the Independence from England. It talks about Paine's on going support for an independent and self-governing America. The author ,Thomas Paine, wrote straight to America and the troops of Valley Forge. He uses a lot of words that stand out to the readers that draw you in. Some of the time the words may be stronger in meaning than what he actually meant. It probably would be written differently because they were talking about the present day back then and now we might have a different opinion or different point of view on the matter now. I would trust what was said by Paine because he did live through this event but also he was very specific to the problem that was happening back then and he highlighted the really important parts.
